Child Find Notice
Child find is a public awareness activity to locate, evaluate and identify children ages 3- 21 years of age who may have disabilities defined under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Child with a disability means a child evaluated and determined eligible for special education and related services in accordance with IDEA under the following categories:
Autism, Deaf-Blindness, Deaf or Hearing Impairment, Emotional Disturbance, Mental Retardation, Multiple Disabilities, Orthopedic Impairment, Other Health Impairment, Specific Learning Disabilities, Speech or Language Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment, and Developmental Delay.
Mill Creek Public School is responsible for locating, evaluating and identifying children with disabilities that live within the Mill Creek Public School District boundaries. The special education and related services to be provided will be determined by the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team members based upon that particular child's unique needs.
If you live in the Mill Creek Public School District and have a child between the ages of 3 to 21 and suspect your child may have a disability or is exhibiting delays in his/her development you may contact Cindy Cannon, Director of Special Services for the Mill Creek Public Schools. The office telephone number is 580-384-5514 or you may talk to your child's teacher, school counselor or principal regarding your concern.
